Partnerships
Partnerships with the Canada Carbon Trust is for
the benefit of all sectors — businesses, institutions, consumers
and communities. We embrace existing initiatives and expertise of our
partners to reduce carbon emissions on a large scale. By leveraging the
power of many groups joining toward a common goal, we will multiply our
capacity to build a healthy and sustainable future.
Investments
The Canada Carbon Trust is an investment vehicle
for corporations, governments, institutions, and individuals. Investment
funds are assembled from equity and institutional investors, individuals,
businesses, and carbon offsets. In turn, we invest these funds in sustainable
projects that encompass all areas of emission reductions and carbon management.
The Trust will invest directly in projects that contribute to our ability
to:
1. use less energy
2. use clean energy
3. capture and manage carbon emissions
The Canada Carbon Trust will create and manage its
own program base, while working with partners to assist in the delivery
of their programs in an accelerated and wide-ranging manner. Examples
of program areas are green buildings and infrastructure, as well as low
to no-carbon transportation.
Programs
The Canada Carbon Trust develops and supports programs
to reduce and capture carbon emissions. Our programs establish the building
blocks for future generations to continue action toward sustainable solutions.
The CCT supports effective programs that incorporate public education,
outreach and advocacy around three primary objectives:
1. conserving energy
2. promoting clean energy
3. accelerating action toward sustainable outcomes
